Growing Out a Pixie Cut Part 2

Castor OilIt’s been over a month since I discussed my hair growth though I did get a trim that I mentioned in my hair update. I thought I’d make a little update just to show the length of my hair and talk about some of the new things I’m doing to aid the growth. I’m also trying my hardest to not process it for a while.

First I want to say that I finally got my hands on some castor oil! I’ve been trying to find some at my Walmart but had no luck. Though, I’d prefer some raw, unrefined castor oil or even Jamaican black castor oil, I read that this kind will work just the same. Castor oil has been known to make hair just grow, grow, grow!

It’s a very thick oil and you only need a few drops to cover your scalp and hair. Today I massaged it into my scalp and applied it to my lengths as well. I kept it in for about an hour and 20 minutes then rinsed and conditioned. My hair is really soft but still rather dry from my shampoo train. I want to use the castor oil every day but will try to do it at least 3 times a week.

The other thing I purchased was some Hair, Skin, and Nails vitamins. You may know I’ve been taking B vitamins and some Biotin but I thought I’d get better results with HSN specific pills. I’m not taking the A+D vitamins anymore since the rest have plenty in them but I don’t know if I should continue taking my B complex.

VitaminsYou can see all the vitamins I have. The HSN vitamins say to take three a day but should I if I am taking a multi-vitamin? And should I keep taking the B vitamins? Today I’ve had the multi, biotin, and two of the HSN. If anyone knows more about supplements than myself, please let me know which would be best to take. If I have three of HSN a day they will only last 40 days. Oh, dilemmas. Updating this to say I can’t take the multi because it makes me quite ill. I guess I will be sticking to the other vitamins after all.

Here is my hair on November 13, just over a month ago. Somewhat hard to show the length but I’ll try to compare it to my new picture. In the above photo the hair near my ear isn’t covering it up or reaching the bottom of my ear. Though it’s the opposite side of my face, you can see the hair is now past the ear.

Even with my trim I think my hair grew at least half an inch, maybe more. I hope I start to see better results with these things I have purchased. While at the store I also got some shower caps for processing or hair masks. I got some baking soda as well for its uses with clarifying. I also have been learning about this technique to lighten hair by mixing baking soda and peroxide. I wonder if it is more damaging than just bleach? Someone try it and let me know!
